About Todd Luxton

Biography

BORN: December 28, 1970, Rochester Hills, Michigan
RESIDENCE: Phoenix, Arizona

On Halloween night, 1976 in Oak Park, Michigan five-year-old Todd Luxton went out trick-or-treating dressed as Elvis Presley. The idea for this costume came from his mother who was an Elvis fan. Little did anyone know that some 27 years later Todd would still be wearing Elvis costumes, although not from K-Mart or Target this time, but designed by the very same man that made Elvis Presley's jumpsuits and costing in the range of $2500 each.

Todd grew up in Michigan and his first paid Elvis appearance was at the age of 15, performing at a Bat Mitzvah for the nominal sum of $75. In high school he won a talent show impersonating Elvis and also won the supporting lead role of Kenickie in "Grease". He graduated from Western Michigan University in 1994 with a degree in Political Science and Business Management. He then moved to Arizona where he continued doing shows, gaining experience and fine tuning his performance; so much so that audiences forget that he isn't actually Elvis. Todd looks the part by wearing stage make-up, the trademark jumpsuit and the classic Elvis hair style. He says that when he gets on stage, it comes natural to him; that he is comfortable and it "feels good". It must, as he has won every contest he has entered, including one in Michigan and three in Arizona.

Todd slips into the Elvis character on nights and weekends performing at private parties, corporate functions and statewide and regional casinos and clubs. He has an impressive list of clients on his resume, including Discover Card, American Express, Motorola, the Phoenix Coyotes, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, Harrah's Ak Chin Casino, Apache Gold Casino, Fort McDowell casino, the touring company of Legendary Superstars and the well-known Legends in Concert in Las Vegas.

Todd's tribute to Elvis Presley has taken him across the country with numerous performances including casinos, dinner theaters and stage shows. He has been performing Elvis to delighted crowds for over 17 years. He has won every contest he has ever entered, including one in Michigan and three in Arizona, beating over 30 other contestants at Harrah's and 40 contestants at Apacheland Movie Ranch, where Elvis actually filmed his movie "Charro".

Every song that Elvis recorded live, Todd knows and can perform. When asked his favorite, he'll tell you it is "My Way" describing it as a very emotional song that gives him goose bumps to this day. Todd is not the only person with goose bumps during a performance...in true Elvis style, he hands out scarves and kisses to women of all ages in the audience, who openly admire the handsome entertainer by throwing roses, lingerie and even hotel room keys to him on stage. When asked how he feels about the effect he has on his female audience, he modestly replies that "it is nice to bring memories close to home for my viewers and I enjoy seeing all people react, not just women".
